From Myers blog again...he's got a video posted of a mormon guy saying that they shouldn't have thrown all that money into Prop 8, yet the bishop tries to shut the guy up, turns off the microphone and has him escorted out.

Some of the commentators point out the irony of Mormons trying to determine how other people should conduct their marriages.

Someone relates an incident what happened to him when he was a kid and he tried to give a speech in a mormon "sacrament meeting" dealing with the topic of the LDS church's policy regarding denying black people the priesthood.

Just like with Rapture Ready, MrMannn, Uncommon Descent "the Lawman", etc. evangelicals don't tolerate straying from the party line.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Yet they (Mormons and fundamentalists of all religions) are as loud and obnoxious about getting their mythology into courthouses, public squares, laws, and public schools as they are determined that nobody -- even their own adherents -- dispute their vile creeds in their churches.

Good for that guy for speaking out so calmly and eloquently. It must have been a very difficult thing for him to do. Even if the majority in the audience didn't listen and see his values and opinions as inappropriate, I'll bet there were many in the audience who harbor doubts about their faith and the values imposed by their religion, and this brave guy in their congregation speaking out openly pushes those people one step further toward spiritual (I use this term in the broadest sense) liberation.
