What on Earth? #66: Ancient Highrises Note: Since I am going to be busy in the morning and all day (riding my scooter and a steam train), I'm posting this exercise here in the middle of the night.
Not all ancient cities are extinct like some of the archaeological sites I've shown here.
This city was both fortunate and well enough planned to survive from well before Christian times to the present date. A walled town, it has several thousand residents living in buildings up to 16 stories tall.
One point for each question:
1. What's the name of this city?
2. Where is it located
