What on Earth? # 83: Strategic Location It was well located to control traffic between two bodies of water. It also was also a trading place of many cultures. The city that occupied the approximate area around my yellow push-pin was important in ancient times.

I've started seeing a pattern here: I find these obscure places, put up an aerial image that's totally useless, and give diddly-squat for hints. I sit back and grin, knowing you morons will never figure the problems out. Then you do anyway, often within minutes.
