We speak, of course, of science denier and religo-windbag, Sen. James Inhofe of OK. I do not know if he actually believes the flat earth crap, but the wingnut that holds his brain in place is much too loose. Thus, it is certainly a possibility if not a working hypothesis.
It must be very lonely being the last flat-earther.

Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, committed climate-change denier, found himself in just such a position Tuesday morning as the Senate environment committee, on which he is the ranking Republican, took up legislation on global warming. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) was in talks with Democrats over a compromise bill — the traitor! And as Inhofe listened, fellow Republicans on the committee — turncoats! — made it clear that they no longer share, if they ever did, Inhofe’s view that man-made global warming is the “greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.”

A lonely life indeed. It gets even more lonely, and loony, as he plays the fool in our House of Lards Lords aw dammit, the freakin' Senate! I suggest opening the couple of links in the text for enlightenment on the historical flat earth conjecture(s) and the original WP story.

Inhofe should consider a change in his career from that of politics to being a clown -- preferably a rodeo clown.

Oh, that was good stuff, Fil! It was much like Joe McCarthy's collapse at the end of his own ascendancy, wasn't it? Inhofe's got nothing to support him, he's no longer got allies, and all he can do is blubber petulantly. The inevitable result of standing firm against reality and accumulating evidence.
