The judgement is in. Doc calls it "urosepsis" caused by E. Coli. I'm now getting targeted antibiotics, and they say my diarrea will go away eventually, since we're no longer using broad-spectra antibiotics. Fever is almost gone now but my body seems to have problems with fine-tuning body temp, because very early this morning I woke up bathing in sweat. The antibiotics treatment will go on for 10 days, but I was promised I'll get home fairly soon. |

HONEY, I HOME!
It feels good to be sleeping in my own bed again. Hospital beds are made for utility, not comfort. Fever still not entirely gone. Apatite is slowly returning, managed to down half a pizza so I'm improving. Both body and brain still feels a bit mushy though, and my stomach have decided to keep me on my toes; get a little queasy now and then, and anything I stuff myself with comes out runny-style.
But I'm improving, that's the important thing. |

Try eating some yogurt, live/active culture. It can help with the stomach upset and the diarrhea you get with antibiotics.

The yogurt's active cultures may be destroyed along with the nasty germs while you're still getting antibiotics, but it sure can't hurt to start early. Great point, Dude. A healthy gut culture is one of the least-pursued and yet most important things one can have. |

I eat at least one yogurt a day, mostly because I like yogurt.
With extended antibiotic therapy the live culture yogurt (or a lactobacillus tablet, available over the counter or at most healthfood stores) can help decrease the inevitable runny poop and other GI symptoms associated with antibiotics.
