"Other" all the way. I have just a short list of around 20 books I have yet to read and I blew my whole winter break that was suppose to be spent at least reading a few of them.

Then there is that whole learning a language thing I have to work on as well.

A series of fun one-liners about various pseudoscientific claims and, even better, a concise description of the scientific method - Ken Feder on Skeptic Friends Network from "Frauds, Myths and Mysteries"

The noblest resolve that any person can have is to aspire to the continuous attainment of wisdom. Intelligence, knowledge, ability and talent are all vacuous without the wisdom as to how to utilize them.

I have resolved to never again obstruct the flow of the Mississippi River. I have also resolved to quit lying by implication, but that one can wait for a while.....

I further resolve to get my spectacles fixed and read something other than hack & stab psuedo-mysteries, and Harry Potter.

Good thing I don't suffer from that.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

I'm trying to lose weight/get in shape. The LA marathon is in March-- and while I have no intention of running a marathon, their 5k is the day before and I'd like to break 20 minutes for that. This will mean more running and less bacon, but I'm going to give it a shot.

I'll buy that. I did pick other because there are parts of two that I would like to achieve. Lose a few pounds and joining a face to face skeptic group would be good. But typically I don't bother making resolutions. So that would be three.

My resolution: Stop drinking so much alcohol. So far so good, as I haven't had a drink since last year! (okay, it has been only a week). It's amazing how much better I feel when I don't drink a pitcher or more of beer in the evening; whodathunk!?
