Just wondering if there are any A&A fans around here.

I have played a few games like that, but never A&A itself. Perhaps the most amazing and complex game I've ever played is World in Flames. A friend and I played (I was the Axis and he was the Allies) and got about 100 hours into it before we had to stop. I'd love to play again with 6 people, each taking a major power (US, Russia, UK, Germany, Italy, Japan), but it would take a ridiculous amount of time and you'd need massive commitment and coordination to ever pull it off... |

I have played it, way back in my collage days. It is not as complex as World in Flames, but games could still last all night sometimes.
Still, it did love that game. The rabbit defense for Russia. The second German blitz on UK. The Japan invasion of Asia. You could try crazy things in that game, and sometimes pull them off. |

There are new versions Paulos, there were three versions (Full/Pacific/Europe) released in the early 00's and all three were re-released again last year with modifications. All are vastly superior to the original. Pacific is my favorite board game. |

I've played AA since it came out. Still play a game now and then. Used to play a custom version I picked up in a gaming store that required all the pieces from 2 complete games so you could include France and vichy France pieces. The board was fricken huge with a lot of additional territories.

I just got a version of the full for Xmas. Just pulled out the board. Very different then the board I remember. The Russia/German boarder looks better, though is it me or are the Japs stronger in their starting turn? |

After about 30 tries I found a strategy that works for the Axis in the 2.0 version, Japan is stronger but it may take you awile to figure out a decent way to use them. |
