Mooner.....

Great work on the saga of John Boy, but he stated that he used an electrostatic device to "leave a red mark". You have depicted a good sized Tesla Coil, a form of high frequency resonant transformer which generates high voltages of sufficient amperage likely to have killed the boy.

If in fact an electrostatic device was used, it would likely have been a small Van DeGraff generator or possibly a Wimshurst influence machine. I have one of these in my playpen. It produces spectacular high voltage static electric discharges, but the amperage is so low that there is little chance of dangerous electrical shock.

Well, the tale of the Cross as told at crossroads inns includes a Tesla Coil, not a Van DeGraff generator, so that's what I went with. Also, it's more recognizable and photogenic, and covers the fellow's crossbow better.
