In Afghanistan when there's an attack, the media says the al qaeda, Taliban, or militants did it, based on what's hot at the time. Of course none of them can be identified because they don't live in established places, or wear recognizable uniforms, but that doesn't stop the media from picking their own hot terrorist.

Thank you Captain Obvious, do you have a solution?

Wow! (slaps forehead) What a BRILLIANT observation! You know, the Taliban and Al Qaeda should wear recognizable uniforms so everyone can know who they are, be it on the battlefield or walking down the street.

Now I have a question: in every attack, wouldn't the attackers be classified as militants?

Pakistan border villages have been brutally attacked, from bases inside Afghanistan, and the attackers have been seen wearing uniforms. With American flags, and using American weapons.

Does American media report on this?

Yeah, but you don't really want to hear it. You'd rather play games than tackle anything new or controversial. This is a skeptic formum where we're dedicated to exposing established wrongs, isn't it?

The topic is opportunistic media who are more interested in their agendas than facts, not me or my observations.

Of course, but with no buzzwords the media wouldn't play it up.

Who precisely is this amorphous "media" and in what way are they "opportunistic" and what is their "agenda"?

When did "militant" become a buzzword? By your acknowledgment, it is a fact.

And since neither Al qaeda nor the Taliban wear uniforms, and since they have claimed responsibility for all the assorted terrorist incidents, isn't the media using facts in their reporting? In all times, until the perpetrator claims responsibility, the "media" always put the qualifier "alleged" in front of their names.
