Is one religion better than another? Ask a Christian and they'll say Jesus is the way. Ask a Muslim and they'll say,,,you know. I believe one is as good as another. Not to beat up on one or another, Here is one family's earthly journey to Heaven.
If your child was to die where would you bury him/her? A highly Religious Muslim couple buried their dead daughter under their chicken coop. Did they loved her so much they wanted to keep her close to home instead of the more distant cemetery? No. Maybe with praying five times a day they were just to busy to have a funeral? NOooo, they dug a hole six foot deep, tied her hands and then they buried her ALIVE. Damn, the autopsy found dirt in her lungs and in her stomach. What a living nightmare for her, one that only ended when she woke up dead. Allaaahhh Aacchhhhhbarr! Praise be to Allah, give them the Muslim's "parents of the year" award. Not so fast, that coveted award has other contenders. This couple will just have to get in line with all the others, to receive Allah's approving wink, nod and that job well done handshake. In Turkey where this occurred, there are more than 200 such honor killings a year there. That's about half of all their annual murders a year. As horrific and sick as this is, I'm not surprised. When it comes to Religious people of any religion anywhere, I will never be surprised at any immoral act they do, under their flags of morality, praise God. To me, they are all one in the same. What a horrific thing to do, just to please a God and get into Heaven. Theist think I'm wrong to say, I want no part of Religion. I want no part of what it takes to get into their Heaven. SS

That pig-fucking, Islamic barbarian should be beaten to death with his own shovel. After he digs one, last hole.

But Christians have been, still are (Uganda gay law), and will be in the future, little better.

What about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jainism

It certainly is a deperture from what we encounter in this country, isn't it?

I think it's this kind of thinking that makes a member of any religion feel theirs is above the others. It's human nature to underrate your own group's failings and overrate others. As far as other religions besides Muslim, that's why I wrote " I will never be surprised at any immoral act they do, under their flags of morality, praise God" ,I was not clear but I was referring to ALL religions, not just Muslim. All religions are capable of producing this kind of act and much worse. They either have, do, or can. Christians are only a "little better" if you not killed in Uganda for being gay (as noted) or looking at the inquisition, etc.. Maybe there will always be people killing people and a motivation will always be there, religious or otherwise. Maybe religion keeps more people from killing, than it motivates killings, leaving the net loss of life smaller. Because any act is possible, it's more likely to occur due to the great number of people alive. Very sad, all the same.
Astropin thanks for the link. It's a shame, as a religion, it's so obscure. Worth reading for what may benefit me. SS

Is it just me, or is it that mono-theistic religions breeds more intolerance against other philosophies than poly-theistic religions?
Was there as much animosity between the followers of Zeus, Aphrodite, Aries etc as with Christians and Muslims?

Edit: Added blue section to clarify.

In the Immortal words of South Park, "The stupid French-Chinese think they have a right to Hawaii!" The animosity is always there, it's form is always changing though. The Peloponnesian War was started over which helmet style Zeus would prefer.(Corinthian, duh)
