An educated person sees a sphere near the Sun and says 'Hmmm, is that Mercury, or maybe a camera artefact?' He is obviously not educated. But if not for the lunatics and ignorant Youtube would not be half so much fun! |

A funny moment is at 2:50 when he quickly moves the camera away from the object that is obviously Saturn. Perhaps his cognitive dissonance kicked in and it felt uncomfortable to take a closer look.

The guy doesn't even know enough about the imagery to know that "STEREO Behind" does not mean that the view is from "behind the Sun" (as he says).
See Where is STEREO Today?...
...oh, my... He must be right! For one thing, none of the inner planets were in the right place to be that blob.
[Edit: I didn't realize that one can't link to specific plots in the "Where is STEREO Today?" tool. Go to the link above, put 21 January 2010 in for the date, and make the time 20:05 UTC. Then select inner or outer solar system views and click "Generate Plot"]
And for another thing, the image he's looking at, 20100121_200530_n7euB_195.jpg is no longer available on the STEREO site, and 20100121_200530_n4euB_195.jpg doesn't show the anomaly. The government is obviously hiding the truth!!1!!! |
