This ridiculous, ignorant and ultimately venial, Oklahoma popinjay has gotten up on his hind legs and attacked climate change again. He calls it the "greatest hoax ever!" Now, he wants a Justice Dept., criminal investigation into the matter and have Gore to testify before the Senate -- of which, unfortunately, he is a member along with some other ignorant, OK drag-heels whose name I disremember.
Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) today asked the Obama administration to investigate what he called “the greatest scientific scandal of our generation” — the actions of climate scientists revealed by the Climategate files, and the subsequent admissions by the editors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report (AR4).

Senator Inhofe also called for former Vice President Al Gore to be called back to the Senate to testify.

“In [Gore's] science fiction movie, every assertion has been rebutted,” Inhofe said. He believes Vice President Gore should defend himself and his movie before Congress.

With video, which I haven't bothered to open simply due to it's subject. Inhofe is an idiot.

What the heck does he hope to gain by this? Al Gore is not going to run for public office again, so I don't really see what the gain is here. It is not like the rest of the government (or the world) will just ignore climate change even if they catch Gore in a lie.

Inhofe is just doing the work required by his employers.

I'm wondering too. I mean, even if Gore would come to congress to testify again, what would he say now that would be significantly different from what he said before?

Why does Bill Scott bring up Gore every other breath when discussing climate change? Because for people like him and Inhofe the debate has never been about the science of climate change (which, frankly, they are too stupid to really understand anyway), but about taking down one's political enemies. Gore is a liberal strongly associated with climate change, ergo climate change is a strictly "liberal" issue and all good conservatives must oppose it as a matter of political principal. What else are they going do, examine the actual evidence? Pffft.
