I didn't know we non-believers had hate groups. I know of lots of Christian haters, such as the Catholic League and Focus on the Family, and other domestic Taliban wannabes, but no atheist ones. Must be, I'm a little out of touch. Some conservative commentators are accusing the Obama administration of inviting "hate groups" into the White House by holding a meeting with a coalition of secularist and atheist groups.
Officials from the Justice and Health and Human Services departments met Friday with representatives of the Secular Coalition for America, an umbrella group that includes American Atheists and the Council for Secular Humanism. The coalition called it "the first time in history a presidential administration has met for a policy briefing with the American nontheist community."
President Barack Obama was not scheduled to make an appearance at the meeting, nor were any policy changes to be announced, McClatchy news service reported.
But that didn't stop a number of religious conservative groups from attacking the meeting as a sign the president has an anti-religious agenda.
"It is one thing for Administration to meet with groups of varying viewpoints, but it is quite another for a senior official to sit down with activists representing some of the most hate-filled, anti-religious groups in the nation," said Council Nedd, chairman of the religious advocacy group In God We Trust.

Oh, wait.... Now I get it! It's another religious ratchet-jaw lying for Jesus again. Move along, folks; nothing to see here.

Next (who am I kidding? They're already doing something like this), the Religious Right will be claiming that Camp Quest indoctrinates kids with a satanic, pagan, Nazi-Communist atheist critical thinking religion.
The RR is using techniques reminiscent of the Nazi's Big Lie. (As Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf, a lie so "colossal" that no one would believe that someone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously".) Tell one huge falsehood over and over until it becomes familiar and accepted. Never acknowledge an error of fact. Portray those you persecute as being persecutors themselves, and point out their defenders as being their co-conspirators.
The fact that the secularist coalition consulted with lower level White House people to air their opinion that all religious and non-religious people should be protected from religious intolerance is an unacceptable message to the RR, so must be buried in a torrent of lies. |

We atheists hate God, Christianity, America, capitalism and the heterosexuals. So every time we organise, it has to be in the form of a hate group, because that's all we do. |
