Vatican chorister sacked for allegedly procuring male prostitutes for papal gentleman-in-waiting

Some can only emagine what it may be like to be waiting to have an audiance with the Pope, the (blind) Holy See, the Big Kahuna. That excitement must be over powering. However relief may be harder to cum by from now on. Nah! I doubt it, not if a new procurement officer is found, immediately. found. Could this shine a little light on why the Pope continues to turn a blind eye to priest raping the children of their flock (sheep)? SS

There are only two types of religious people, the deceivers and the deceived. SS

Nice find, SS! So this guy was the chief Vatican procurer? The principle pimp for Papal personnel? It should be fun to watch this hypocritical mess play out.

Since the parties involved was negotiating services and price, one has to assume that the homosexual acts were at least consensual.
That is a huge step forward compared to raping children.

Now, if they only could be shamed into admitting all those rapes and start working with the authorities...

The whole thing has now become moot. The Devil made them do that, his demons possessing the priests and taking them away from lives of piety and good works.
Sex abuse scandals in the Roman Catholic Church are proof that that "the Devil is at work inside the Vatican", according to the Holy See's chief exorcist.

Father Gabriele Amorth, 85, who has been the Vatican's chief exorcist for 25 years and says he has dealt with 70,000 cases of demonic possession, said that the consequences of satanic infiltration included power struggles at the Vatican as well as "cardinals who do not believe in Jesus, and bishops who are linked to the Demon".

He added: "When one speaks of 'the smoke of Satan' [a phrase coined by Pope Paul VI in 1972] in the holy rooms, it is all true – including these latest stories of violence and paedophilia."

He claimed that another example of satanic behaviour was the Vatican "cover-up" over the deaths in 1998 of Alois Estermann, the then commander of the Swiss Guard, his wife and Corporal Cedric Tornay, a Swiss Guard, who were all found shot dead. "They covered up everything immediately," he said. "Here one sees the rot".

Exorcism is just another means of shirking responsibility, letting the "possessed" off the hook as well as the Church. And dat ol' Debbil, he's been busy, up there amongst the hymn-singers as well. There's wealth of responsibility to shirk:
A series of allegations in Germany and Holland have plunged the Catholic Church into a renewed crisis over how it has dealt with child abuse after it emerged that the Pope's brother ran a renowned choir at the centre of some of the latest claims.

Reports of systematic historical abuse by clergy have surfaced at three schools in the Regensburg diocese in Bavaria. One of them is the much-heralded Regensburger Domspatzen, a thousand-year-old male choir and boarding school, whose choral master for 30 years was the Pope's older brother, Georg Ratzinger.

Monsignor Ratzinger has agreed to testify in any eventual prosecutions – but says that he knew of no abuse. And last night the German Justice Minister, Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, joined a growing chorus of politicians in Berlin to criticise the church over its attitude to the investigation, accusing Catholic institutions of a policy of secrecy.

One begins to wonder if the habit doesn't run in the family.

Only the tip of the iceberg, as it turns out.
.Child abuse claims sweep Catholic Church in Europe

By SHAWN POGATCHNIK, Associated Press Writer Associated Press Writer – Sat Mar 13, 11:40 am ET

DUBLIN – It often starts as a voice in the wilderness, but can swell into an entire nation's demand for truth. From Ireland to Germany, Europe's many victims of child abuse in the Roman Catholic church are finally breaking social taboos and confronting the clergy to face its demons.

Ireland was the first in Europe to confront the church's worldwide custom of shielding pedophile priests from the law and public scandal. Now that legacy of suppressed childhood horror is being confronted in other parts of the Continent — nowhere more poignantly than in Germany, the homeland of Pope Benedict XVI.

The recent spread of claims into the Netherlands, Austria and Italy has analysts and churchmen wondering how deep the scandal runs, which nation will be touched next, and whether a tide of lawsuits will force European dioceses to declare bankruptcy like their American cousins.

"You have to presume that the cover-up of abuse exists everywhere, to one extent or another. A new case could appear in a new country tomorrow," said David Quinn, director of a Christian think tank, the Iona Institute, that seeks to promote family values in an Ireland increasingly cool to Catholicism.

In my naiveté, I have long expected the Catholic Church and other sects to lose their numbers and eventually go extinct as rationalism caused more people to leave than to join. A slow decline, as sort of gradualist extinction.

But it looks as though a kind of catastrophism or "punctuated equilibrium" may be at work, instead. The Church may go out sooner than I expected, in an inglorious blaze of hypocrisy.

I would not look forward with too much anticipation toward the demise of the Church. They've been around a long time and have learned to roll with the punch, often by viciously attacking the opponent.

Right now, they're hunkered in the bunker trying to ride it out, and whimpering piteously about being property rich, but cash poor -- I don't believe it either.

Whether or not this strategy will be successful depends upon how much farther this scandal will reach, and how outraged the mackerel-snapping rank & file gets. Those outside the Church don't matter.

So will that R&F be totally ripped over this? I doubt it. It goes with the territory of the devout to believe every word the priest says, and no doubt soothing sermons are being composed even as we speak. A few priests might or might not get a little slam-time and maybe the excommunication axe, and others will go into "rehab." Lawsuits will be grudgingly settled, and things will be as they were. Until the next time.

Call that a prediction.
