Ain't that about the way of it: All of those future corpses are bitching about putting off becoming a corpse for a little longer.

I especially like the gal in the long, red dress. She looks quite like a Holocaust survivor next to her companions. Alas, her sign is as futile as her philosophy, but it's probably better than her original.

That's the problem with spoofing the Teabaggers, dammit: The original signs are always funnier than anything I can come up with.

And I give some small credit to the gal in the red dress, who may be single-handedly trying to counter the usual sloppy, slack-jawed white-trash appearance of the Teabagging crowd.

Here's the unaltered original photo:

Probably because that photo is (I think) from yesterdays' nasty rally in DC. I wanted to use a less familiar photo.

No, I meant out of all of the teabaggers' protest lines, that one is new. Despite the misspelling of Robin Hood (which I've heard before), he's generally seen as a hero of the people.

I guess we're supposed to think that vigilante Robin Hood is great, but give him a public office and it would sucky socialism.

It says, "Stop Robbing Hood Gout." It's an auto-immune disorder. It causes people to waste away and wear clothing found in dumpsters.

Hmmm... "Robbing the rich, giving to the poor," is the first thing I think of when I hear the name, Robin Hood. That strikes me as less being socialist and more an effective guerrilla tactic. Of course, the Robin Hood of the movies was hardly a socialist, but only wanted to reimpose a (mythically) more "honest" monarchy and then to become one of the aristocrats again.

A socialist Robin would seize the means of production for a "people's" state, and then employ the poor. That's central to real socialism. Universal health care, even if wholly governmental, is not the central issue of socialism, only a common side effect (as even in dirt-poor Cuba).

Universal health care could be accomplished in a country where there was no appreciable socialism at all (the USA, for instance). It's no more inherently "socialist" than is universal public education.

It's hard for me to see how any part of the Robin Hood legend could be used by either side in the (nearly settled) health care debate.

! And some of those people look like aren't exactly wasting away, but finding a lot of discarded fast food in MacDonald's dumpsters.

Yeah, that's redistribution of wealth.
A socialist Robin would seize the means of production for a "people's" state, and then employ the poor.
Those peasants were probably just lazy, or they would have already had jobs. Robin Hood shouldn't have rewarded such poor behavior with gold.

Okay, Dave, I'll try harder.

The Teabaggers might see a "bad" Robin Hood as a revolutionary who would seize all the leeches, then set up a Death Panel (deliberately excluding Friar Tuck, replacing him with a witch) to decide who qualifies to receive their life-saving virtues. The same panel would force abortificant herbs upon pregnant Christian women. Mixed-race, same-sex breeding would be enforced under pagan law.

A Teabagger-approved Robin Hood would strive to return England to the real principles of the Divine Right of Kings that those who wrote the Magna Carta actually had in mind (despite years of lies from leftist town criers about the matter). They'd return to the proper owners all gleanings from the manor fields that starving peasants had gathered. A Life Panel would be chosen from the most patriotic and pious Real Englishmen to decide who gets to live, and who must be consigned to the wheel or the stake for the greater glory of God.
