More seriously, the Pope will probably set up a phony meet with some tame faitheists. Accommodationists who'll be far too sensitive to bring up matters that might embarrass the Vatican.
(If he meets with any one of the Four Horsemen or any other "New Atheists," I'll eat my fedora. No, he'll chat with people who talk about "different ways of knowing" or "non-overlapping magesteria" and will hear their concern that the "strident" atheists are just troublemakers.)
The Vatican will pump these quislings up as though they were the world's leading voices of critical thinking. With atheist friends like that, Ratzi will have no need himself to say a word against atheism.
Oh, and just to spice things up, a convenient "conversion" to Catholicism of one or more of the faitheists will take place soon after the meeting with the pontiff. |

'Mooner's right. There's no way Benny and his sycophants are going to go into the same room with hard atheists.
But I don't understand why; he has little or nothing to lose. The dogmatic will not leave the Church and the wafflers will waffle but mostly stay where they are out of inertia. He would have an opportunity to establish a dialogue -- Oh, wait. The Vatican doesn't want a dialogue, anyway. They want to command, as they did 'way back in the good ol' days.
