Seems there's this amazing octopus in Germany that has psychic powers to rival Miss Cleo. "Paul" has managed to pick the winners in eight, straight games! I think I can predict a boomlet in pet octopus sales as the loosely-wired among us try for a psychic cephalopod of their very own.
Paul the Octopus has predicted Spain would win the game against Netherlands.
This is the more impressive, since the psychic octopus got 8 games out of 8 predicted right at this World Cup.

Me, I vote for the sushi option or one of those excellent Greek dishes wherein Octopus is so delicious.
Anyhow, it never fails to amaze me that the term "psychic" pops up like a summer toadstool whenever something like this, entirely explainable by simple coincidence, happens by. I blame it on the media; they start the bullshit to guarantee the nitwit portion of their audience will always be there for them.
I've been given to understand that there is a pretender to the psychic throne; some CA parakeet or other that I haven't bothered to look up.
