It's the Ground Zero mosque, really a social center, again. This time it involves Jews, notably the Simon Wiesenthal gaggle of Nazi-hunters, who are now all but out of work.
Wiesenthal Center opposes NYC mosque, supports museum on Palestinian graveyard

They, of all people, should know better. Sigh...

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

How they can continually call this a matter of sensitivity blows my mind.

I think the museum is irrelevant though -- 800 years ago is not 9 years ago, but it doesn't really matter. The first argument falls apart without irrational bigotry.

In 1948 former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, as a member of the Zionist terror group Irgun, planted a bomb in the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, killing 91 people. Guess we should ban the building of synagogues in that city, it's just so damned insensitive. And I would love to see the hissy fit the right wingers would have if we proposed banning the building of churches in Oklahoma City. After all, Timothy McVeigh was Christian, wasn't he?

It is said that McVeigh was associated with the Christian Identity Movement, but I have yet to confirm this. As best anyone actually knows, he was a lapsed Catholic who once claimed to be an agnostic.

Terry Nichols, on the other hand, went off the religious deep end not long after he was locked up.
