I'm not sure that this is the World's Largest Tumor. I seem to recall a fallopian tumor of some considerable size being removed a couple of decades ago, either here in the states or Great Britain. Nevertheless, this'uns a whopper.

How does a tumor get that big before removing it?

Poverty, for one.

"So you're made of detritus [from exploded stars]. Get over it. Or better yet, celebrate it. After all, what nobler thought can one cherish than that the universe lives within us all?"

Indeed. And the lady I read about was too embarrassed to communicate with anyone outside her close family because of the misshapen shape of her body. As I recall, it took a long time before she was talked into seeking medical help.

A malignant tumor?! I'm no doctor, but doesn't the word 'malignant' mean 'abso-frigging-lutely deadly real quick'? How does it get that big without killing her? 'Benign' I could believe.
