In 'civilized' countries like America that isn't done any more, they don't need to. They just take away your unions along with all your safety committees, and let the mine collapse and take a load of troublemakers with it.
I fear that soon, labour relations may revert to the bad old days, when the picket sign handle served a dual purpose. |

It seems to me they don't actually take away unions and safety committees. They infiltrate them and render them ineffective, turning them into a corporate serving entity. One must keep up appearances. SS
