Thanks for the warning. Didn't know I was rocking the boat so much. I'll dial all the way down to out.
| Well, I for one would rather you didn't do that. While it may be true that SFN is a very liberal site (just kind of evolved that way) the challenge to our views is welcome. We are serious about our mission statement. The debate has value. |
Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Here, by the way, is a more broad version of my liberalism: its basis is that nation-wide problems are better addressed by nation-wide solutions. Others might argue that individuals or "small cooperative groups" should have the freedom to be wrong, but when it comes to problems with clear factual or moral answers, allowing those small groups short-change themselves by being wrong is itself morally wrong. As a nation, we only harm ourselves by sitting back and doing nothing while some fraction of us bask in the false virtue of the "right" to fail. |

I'm liberal (small "l") and mostly Liberal (capital "L"), and I'm plenty manly....
Yes that's me and I'm playing on the typical Conservative cluelessness about manliness. I have Y chromosomes and three women have called me a god, 'nuf said.
Anyway, I love liberalism (freedom of inquiry and questioning of authority), as without it we wouldn't have liberty and science.
