They heroically saved Rand Paul from answering a few questions from a vicious, depraved woman bent on getting a little truth out of him. We can't have that, now can we? Doubtless she deserved a good stomping. Link

Woman thrown to ground, and stomped on head, by Rand Paul supporters has concussion, sprained shoulder and arm

With video.

These assholes need a little dose of their own medicine, only with my riding boots instead of sneakers. The Nazi Brownshirts are comparable, and, according to a link in the article, Paul doesn't seem to care much. Therefore. I'd like to see that douchebag face-down in the street as well.
UPDATE II: The stomper has been identified as Rand Paul's Bourbon County coordinator, Tim Profitt. More details upcoming.

In the past, whenever violence has broken out at American political events, it has become standard practice for the politicians whose campaigns inspire the acts -- on both sides -- to disavow the people involved and swiftly condemn their actions, making clear that this kind of behavior is deeply antidemocratic and unAmerican.

So Rand Paul went on Fox News' America's Newsroom this morning with the opportunity to do just that in response to last night's horrifying assault on a MoveOn protester, and here's the best he could come up with:

Paul: Well, we want everybody to be civil. We want this issue -- the campaign to be about issues. I will tell you that when we arrived, there was enormous passion on both sides. It really was something where you walk into a daze of lights flashing, people yelling and screaming, bumping up. And there was a bit of a crowd control problem. And I -- I don't want anybody to be involved, though, in things that aren't civil. I think this should always be about the issues, and is an unusual situation to have so many people so passionate on both sides, jockeying back and forth.

And it wasn't something that I liked or anybody liked about that situation. So I hope in the future it's going to be better.

Hello? Notice anything missing there?

How about the words "condemn violence"? How about pointing out that this kind of behavior has no place in any campaign on either side? Maybe just a smidge of concern for the health and well-being of the victim of the violence?

Nope. Because, obviously, that didn't occur to Rand Paul. Evidently, the supporter's behavior wasn't condemnation-worthy.

As Steve Benen observes:

Here's a hypothetical: if large, male union members had grabbed a young woman who worked with Tea Partiers, dragged her to the ground, and literally stepped on her head, would Rand Paul be on Fox News saying "it wasn't something that I liked," or might his response be a little stronger?

Indeed, at certain quadrants of the wingnutosphere, they're busy defending, even celebrating the violence.

Contrary to initial reports that Lauren Valle, the woman being assaulted, sustained no injuries, our sources at MoveOn tell us that Valle indeed was diagnosed with a concussion and is being hospitalized for treatment.

One of the two men involved in the assault has been identified as an open-carry advocate named Mike Pezzano:

The sooner these teabag patriots, these cowardly pigfuckers, are locked up the better. Society doesn't need them.

Does that shithead think he wins? The only thing he wins is 'Biggest Asshole of the Year' award. And to every person in the immediate vicinity who witnessed it and didn't hold him for police (or at least beat the shit out of him) a pox on all their houses. The tea party idiots thrive on fear, because they're all cowards to the core.

An update:
Rand Paul's Stomper is a Donor, Too (updated) »
By Michael McAuliff

The man apologizing for stomping on a MoveOn activist’s head in Kentucky isn’t just a Rand Paul volunteer, he’s a donor.

Tim Profitt told the Associated Press this afternoon that he didn’t mean to hurt Lauren Valle when he and others knocked her to the ground and Profitt tromped on her head.

“I’m sorry that it came to that, and I apologize if it appeared overly forceful, but I was concerned about Rand’s safety,” Profitt told the AP.

Police interviewed Profitt, and let him go. And they told the Daily News that Paul’s campaign was not involved.

Still, Profitt was a leading volunteer for Paul until today, when the campaign fired him as its coordinator in Bourbon County.

And a quick FEC search shows a remaining connection: Profitt donated $1,900 to Paul, and a woman who appears to be his wife gave another $600.

We wonder if Paul will keep that cash.

Probably, if he's really stupid. Of further interest is the comment at the end of the article:

AncientOne
October 26, 2010 6:20 PM

Please don't overlook the behavior of the second man in the Rand Paul stomping video.

#65279;#65279;If you will stop the AP video frame by frame, you will see that the man in the checked shirt behind the woman, after bringing her down to the pavement, reaches under her, encircles her breast with his hand, and squeezes it.

Why isn't this being reported? It is very clear in that video.

Just a bunch of good ol' scumbags boys mixing a little fun with business. What's the big deal?

Since Nixon, the way of the Republican has been "attack the victim." Nothing new about this. I'm wondering about a lawsuit, though, as I think Valle has ample grounds for one.

The Rude Pundit:
Regarding the Kentucky Stomping and Juan Williams (Updated):
Well, at least the thugs aren't wearing jackboots. It's white sneakers and loose-fit jeans and belly-clinging t-shirts for the speech-suppressing motherfuckers. When Tim Profitt, the former Rand Paul campaign coordinator for Bourbon County (motto: "Suburban backwards ass country fucks voting against our interests"), stomped on the shoulder and head of a Paul protester, he revealed the ugly heart of the Tea Party, the flames fanned by an endless radio and Fox "news" loop of conspiracy theories and hatemongering the likes of which would make Joseph McCarthy say, "Whoa, are you fucking serious?"

Look at Profitt before his foot of doom strikes Lauren Valle. He thinks about it. He pauses, and his simian brain is flooded by disembodied voices crying out in his head that democracy's vampire tree needs blood to be satisfied. He wants a piece of this fuckin' action, man. You can see him make that decision. How often can a man have a chance to kick the shit out of some short-haired, lesbohippie cunt? And this one's already on the ground, just begging for it. "Yeah," you know he thought, seeing Valle tackled and assaulted by other good Paul nutsuckers, "I gotta get in on that shit." So he stomps, slowly, allowing the feeling of sole hitting shoulder to course through his muscles and bone, a charge that's electric, giving him that barbaric violent surge in his deadened cock, yeah, feeling like this is the way, man, this is the way, so he slides his foot down to her head and pushes, the helpless Valle unable to even shove a redneck asshole's size 7 off her skull.

So they took the video down, eh? It's way too late, as it has been shown on national TV and is all over the 'net. But is Rand Paul toast over it? I dunno. We voters can get pretty stupid sometimes, as witness the recent Bush calamity. He got reelected and I'm given to understand that there are still people who would vote that ignorant, slimy little pissant a third term.

Anybody wearing a disguise and carrying an unknown object who tries to force they way over to any celebrity and/or politician who is making a public appearance and is surrounded by a security team ought to have a good idea of the potential out come of their actions.

And getting back to the endless nonstop ramblings of racism and the tea party. Nobody is even listening anymore. People stopped listening to the boy who cried wolf after the 3rd or 4th time. Just think if the boy would have cried wolf 500 times and plastered it all over the media day and night night and day that the wolf was coming. What's really sad is the racism card has been so over used now that no one pays attention when the accusations are so flippantly thrown around and so any true cases of racism will now likely go unnoticed just as the boy's cries did when the wolf finally did show up.

A new analysis of political signs displayed at a tea party rally in Washington last month reveals that the vast majority of activists expressed narrow concerns about the government's economic and spending policies and steered clear of the racially charged anti-Obama messages that have helped define some media coverage of such events.

Emily Ekins, a graduate student at UCLA, conducted the survey at the 9/12 Taxpayer March on Washington last month by scouring the crowd, row by row and hour by hour, and taking a picture of every sign she passed.

Ekins photographed about 250 signs, and more than half of those she saw reflected a "limited government ethos," she found - touching on such topics as the role of government, liberty, taxes, spending, deficit and concern about socialism. Examples ranged from the simple message "$top the $pending" scrawled in black-marker block letters to more elaborate drawings of bar charts, stop signs and one poster with the slogan "Socialism is Legal Theft" and a stick-figure socialist pointing a gun at the head of a taxpayer.

There were uglier messages, too - including "Obama Bin Lyin' - Impeach Now" and "Somewhere in Kenya a Village is Missing its Idiot." But Ekins's analysis showed that only about a quarter of all signs reflected direct anger with Obama. Only 5 percent of the total mentioned the president's race or religion, and slightly more than 1 percent questioned his American citizenship.

Ekins's conclusion is not that the racially charged messages are unimportant but that media coverage of tea party rallies over the past year have focused so heavily on the more controversial signs that it has contributed to the perception that such content dominates the tea party movement more than it actually does.

"Really this is an issue of salience," Ekins said. "Just because a couple of percentage points of signs have those messages doesn't mean the other people don't share those views, but it doesn't mean they do, either. But when 25 percent of the coverage is devoted to those signs, it suggests that this is the issue that 25 percent of people think is so important that they're going to put it on a sign, when it's actually only a couple of people."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/10/13/AR2010101303634.html

So just as everyone already knew the tea party is protesting policy and not race. If a white guy was in office and ramming this same agenda down the throats of the American people 95% or more of the tea party signs would still be applicable to the white dude. So, as you see, this has nothing to with race so stop beating a dead horse over and over and over and over and over... Let's see some new tricks from the one trick pony. Screaming racism over and over and over and over... against anybody who disagrees with the current agenda just makes you look like a nincompoop.

Hey Buster, why don't you throw on your tea party shirt and then go try to vote in Philly next week. Those Black Panthers will beat your skinny little ex-navy seal ass so silly with their billy clubs that you will be mumbling "Go Army!!!!" by the time they are finished with you.

I've heard this before and have responded in the same way I am about to. That is just one stupid fucking argument. With 24x7 entertainment (Fox) news parsing each word and cherry picking sound bytes why would someone who does as many speeches as the President not utilize the available technology.

What kind of reports are you hearing/reading?

The "object" was a sign. She was trying to get her picture taken with Paul and the sign. "Security" was onto her before she did anything, and failed to handle the situation properly. And now these small-government people are blaming the lack of police action for the head-stomping (in other words, if the big, bad government had stepped in and done something, nobody's head would have been stomped - hypocritically begging for a nanny).

Even if she'd been a real danger, once they had her on the ground, did she deserve getting a boot to the head?
So just as everyone already knew the tea party is protesting policy and not race.
Except as you've argued before, the "tea party" isn't a monolithic block of like-minded people, so you can't claim otherwise now.
If a white guy was in office and ramming this same agenda down the throats...
What "agenda" would that be? And how well is the "ramming" going?
...of the American people 95% or more of the tea party signs would still be applicable to the white dude. So, as you see, this has nothing to with race...
Except for the 5% or so for whom it does have something to do with race.
