The above comments are attacking a straw man - if you are going to comment on agnosticism you should have at least a vague sense of what agnostics actually profess.
There is a very reasonable philosophical reason to self-identify as an agnostic - because the notion of a deity, as often expressed, is outside the reach of empiricism. "Agnosticism" is simply a recognition of that philosophical fact.
You can still also be an atheist, in the sense that you do not believe in any deity, because there are many good philosophical reasons not to.
But there is nothing cowardly or lazy about understanding the relevant philosophy. Dismissing agnosticism is intellectually lazy, and calling agnostics cowards is the cheap path to a false sense of superiority
