I could but I chose not to. That doesn't give anyone the right to do it for me.
| Yeah. But only one out of three posts addressing your comment did that. The others asked for elaboration. And even though I pretty much suspect, along with Dude that you were kidding, you were pretty much unresponsive to all speculations or requests for elaboration.
For whatever reason you have, it was you who left the door open for speculation. This is a skeptic site after all, and searching for motive is one of the things we do almost from habit. Not only that but after all the time you have been posting here, I think you know it. I think it's possible that you were purposely throwing out bait so you could be indignant over someone's speculations as to your motive, even it it was a joke. Who knows? I don't because you're not saying...

Or make assumptions. You don't have to like it, but what other people do isn't really in your control. If you care about being wrongly perceived, offer clarification. If you don't care enough to defend your statements, then don't expect others to care when you object to how your statements are taken.

I don't see how it's a misconception if the person believes in god and subscribes to the thought of the nation being under god. It's not like they are rooting for mass baby murder here or something. They are pretty much proving their point - that it's a silly thing to get offended over-- and an easy thing to ignore. I'd have posted that comment on my OWN page, instead of instigating argument with that person on their page, though. |
