For those of you in SoCal who enjoy jousting with creationists (i.e., banging your head into a brick wall), Hugh Ross will be giving two lectures in Sierra Madre on Sunday the 30th and Monday the 31st of January. http://www.reasons.org/whats-new/events/upcoming

The announcement in the local paper said "skeptics welcome". Given that Ross is an OEC, I assume the "skeptics" could include YECs.

Hmmmm... I'm might be game if anyone wants to tag along or meet me there.

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

Actually, it looks like he will mostly be addressing objections to the bible. I'm not sure I'm interested in his biblical apologetics...

Well, there are things to debate. Though, I don't know this guy's stance on things like the literal aspect of the Bible. Does he accept the Documentary Hypothesis? I've never found literalists' defense of such things to be all that compelling...

It might be less painful just to review this Shermer/Ross "debate". I don't imagine Ross's arguments have evolved much since 2002.
