This page claims the device generates a tenth of a watt for a half-hour if the 12 kg weight starts at six feet off the ground (which is kinda/sorta close to my figures, earlier), and that a tenth of a watt is now enough, thanks to increased efficiencies, to provide five times as much light as an open-wick kerosene lamp.
The tech specs say there are low, medium and high settings. I bet that just changes the gearing so the weight falls slower. |
