well then I guess we can agree to disagree.
As for Mr. Mahon. I don't remember the word omnibenevolent appearing anywhere in my Bible. I'm not sure exactly what it means either, "all good" I guess. Does that include not allowing bad things to happen by non-interference? Also aren't good and bad really totally subjective things? And why focus on Mr Mahon dying, what about his baaaad case of headlice? Where was God then? And didn't the story of the fall of Mankind really spell it out to people that we're kind of on our own for the most part?
I don't know where to start on this can of worms, really Dave, are you still mad about the neckbeard comment? |

There was one unfortuneate lady who's dwelling had been flattened put on camera. She was crying so hard, she was barely coherent and the scumbag media ran her footage over and over. It was sickening. As Dave stated; it's all about the ratings, not the news, and the misery of others make for ratings. I don't understand why.

I'm not sure exactly what it means either, "all good" I guess. Does that include not allowing bad things to happen by non-interference? | Yeah, that's what "why does a supposedly all-good God allow bad things to happen" (one statement of the Problem of Evil) means. Also aren't good and bad really totally subjective things? | Sure, but subjectively good people have subjectively bad things happen to them while God is allegedly all-good.And why focus on Mr Mahon dying, what about his baaaad case of headlice? Where was God then? | Good question. Why don't you answer it?And didn't the story of the fall of Mankind really spell it out to people that we're kind of on our own for the most part? | No, the Fall is a story of a trickster god cruelly punishing people for ignorance even though he created them ignorant. The moral of the Fall is that god is a bully who will set people up for divinely-ordained failure and then curse them for eternity for not being successful. God may as well have said, "hey Adam, what number am I thinking of," and then sent down his wrath no matter what Adam said.I don't know where to start on this can of worms... | That's a much more honest attitude than many of your brothers....really Dave, are you still mad about the neckbeard comment? | I was never mad about that, just puzzled as to why you started flinging insults for no obvious reason. Did you drunk-post or something? |

To OFFC, I'm curious about how you reconcile a belief in God and mental illness. I have seen people tortured by schizophrenia and depression to the point they didn't want to live. If God is so involved in our lives and is good, how could he allow such suffering and then condemn a person who chose to end his/her own life because of the kind of suffering you see with mental illness.
this is not a challenge to your beliefs. I just want to understand how you view God. |

Finally managed to get hold of River Otter. The worst of the storms passed a little north of her -- she dodged the bullet too but the miss was somewhat closer. She got a lot more hail than we did, but has no garden, so that's not too bad except for some of her neighbors.
Watched about three minutes of the news, and then turned the set off. The hacks were recapping the whole thing yet again.
