In what will likely be a futile attempt to make up for my botching of the questioning of Sarfati when he was here in Edmonton last year, I posted the following to this CMI article.

That article has all the basics: the claim that
Professing Christians who committed atrocities were acting inconsistently with the teachings of Christianity. Conversely, evolutionists who committed atrocities were acting consistently with evolution.
and more!

Anyhow, this is what I tried posting in their comments section:

This is a one-sided view of history at best that whitewashes the christian (if perhaps a distorted version of it) connection.

Ignoring the fact that even if the theory of evolution is true, it has no bearing on whether the theory is actually true or not. It's the fallacy of consequences of belief. Nothing but a play on people's emotions to make them not want to believe in the theory.

It'd take too long to write a full examination of the christian basis of anti-semitism here, so I'll just post two links for you all to read at your leisure, and comment on over there if you desire.

http://www.skepticfriends.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14174

Ironically, when I mentioned the author Dagobert Runes (who was mentioned in the linked post above) to Sarfati when he was in Edmonton last October, he cut me off. I think he knew what I was going to say...

Speaking of which:

Any idea if it'll get through?

When he gets back from vacation, he can read my reply:

Funny. I've read all the names you love to call everyone who dares to disagree with you...remember you calling Rabbi Foxman a "secular misochristic (ie. christ-hating) jew"? I do. What the hell's wrong with you? Look that phrase up in the search engines. Guess who uses that phrase throughout history? Here's a clue...it ain't the "evolutionists".

Yeah, when it comes to tirades and pottymouths, jack, you're one to talk. I remember how you got your ass tossed off of Theology Web. Funny as hell. I guess the "holy spirit" doesn't help control your ego just like it doesn't help control your mouth.

About being let to talk on so long? Isn't it a coincidence that you chose to cut me off at the exact point where I was going to point out the historical xian basis of antisemitism? If I had mentioned that first, I bet you'd have cut me off right there, too.

If you really believe the facts of history are on your side, come on over to the SFN and we can bloody well settle it there.

Nice guy. Too bad that they all keep using that "poisoning the well fallacy" or "fallacy of consequences of belief" besides all their usual misrepresentaions. He seems to think that pointing it out once in an article seems to negate the fact that it's still a tactic that they use in their speeches, writings, etc.

Starting probably maybe this Sunday, I'll start going through that article of his that he told me to read in his email to me.

When I'm done I'll maybe just send him the link to this thead.

Ironically, he said that I've not read a bit of what I criticized, but it's obvious from his email that he didn't do a kark of a lot of reading of what I said either. If this turns into a debate, especially here, it'll be great fun.

Eugenics:

So that guy is going on about Darwin and eugenics? Oh geez, that old saw. Well I'm going to have to start by digging up this and this, where it was pointed out that Darwin himself didn't go for eugenics.

So what if others did? They didn't come up with the theory now, did they? Even if they attributed eugenics to Darwin (ignoring the fact the he opposed the practice and that eugenics was done for millenia in the form of bloody animal breeding), that means nothing since the man himself disapproved of eugenics, and guess what?

Eugenics is all about trying to create a better "kind" of organism whether it be dog, cat, or people in some twisted cases. All of those are working examples of: microevolution, which is something that the creationists claim to accept!

They're using proven workable examples of an actual practice in "microevolution" to try to disparage "macroevolution".

That make any sense to you guys?

Genocide can't even count because as that first link I posted pointed out:

Limiting the diversity of the gene pool is detrimental (and perhaps suicidal in the long run). Biologists who know and work with Darwin’s theory don’t practice or teach Hitler’s policies.

There is a hell of a difference between choosing which animals etc get to breed and deciding which groups of PEOPLE to kill off!

Damn, this is going to be a pain in the ass to read if the rest of the article is like that, and it's just started! Oy!

Those people aren't honest enough to admit that their opposition to "eugenics" is relatively recent. Case in point: this guy.

Right, right...Sunday, Sunday...I'll start this on Sunday.

Yes, I'm working on it...I can tell you two things for sure...

1) how Safarti operates is this: Anyone, no matter how effed up their views on evolutionary biology are (see this "Theodor Fritsch" guy that Sarfati brings up in his article) no matter how much they'd get bitch-slapped by actual biologists if they were to talk about racial superiority or propose a biological basis for anti-semitism today, gets called an "evolutionist" by Safarti, no matter that Darwin himself

a) never said a word about the Jews
b) gradually came to the conclusion himself that it's not really biologically realistic to try to divide people on the basis of "race" as is defined today. (Remember in his Origins book, as I mentioned in another post, Darwin talked about different "races" of cabbage). Back then, "races" seemed to mean what we'd call today "varieties".

2) Sarfati is himself Jewish. Does that mean anything? Only this: That's why I freaked on the guy in my letter to him where I said:

That's why I asked the man what the hell was wrong with him. He uses a curse that his adopted religion has used against his own ethnic group for centuries against a fellow Jewish person who is trying to tell him that the accusations in the "Expelled" movie are off base. Stein in the movie is almost as bad, though he at least doesn't use any anti-semitic phrases himself, he just tries to pin the anti-semitic blame on an different group of people: "evolutionists". Same as Sarfati does.

Otherwise we could sue people for quoting our text in forum posts!

I'm pretty sure you can freely post any email that gets sent to you.

One of my fondest-but-futil dreams is to have that "jumped-up apothecary" show up here. I'd love to take up where we left off at TWeb.

Sarfati gives a whole new meaning to the expression: "Jive Turkey."

Meh. Instead of saying the "phrase" "secular misochristic jew" to be put in the search engines, I should have said to put the quotes around each word individually which is what I did way back when.

You get only one result that I can see from the actual phrase. With each word in quotes, you get all sorts of iterations of xian anti-semitism derivatives of that phrase.

I believe my point in my email to the man still stands.

I get three: SFN, SFN and ERV (a comment by some freak called "Reynold," which sounds like a fake name).

Oddly enough, the comment from Sarfati doesn't show up in the Google results.
With each word in quotes, you get all sorts of iterations of xian anti-semitism derivatives of that phrase.
If you want to search for some combination of the words, but don't care the order or placement, you can drop the quotes altogether.

Interestingly, Google only returns for me 13 results for "misochristic" all by itself (and Google wants to "correct" it to be "masochistic").

That's because you used the actual word, "misochristic". Just think of what "misogynist" means, then you'll realize what "misochristic" means.

I didn't use "misochristic", I just used "christ hating" because that's what the word means.

If you use put "christ hating jew" in as one phrase in google, you'll still get a lot of hits. Putting the qualifier "secular" in front of it doesn't help Sarfati's case in my opinion, because the core of the phrase is something that xians have used as a curse against his own ethnic group for centuries.
