Apparently he liked watching porn, this might not go down so well with his followers.
So here we have a overly-moralizing fundamentalist who has three wives and watches porn. Who the hell does he think he is, a Republican senator?

I find the to-do over bin Laden's porn cache amusing. I find it ridiculous that anyone really cares enough to comment on it. There's lots of porn out there in possession of others than terrorist scumbags. I believe Rat mentioned something about Republican scumbags senators.....
It further amuses me that there is any moral posturing over this non-issue, and I wonder what the moralists watch or imagine when no one's around.
So, I must ask: Why the surprise; indeed why the surprise at any porn stash hoarded by anyone? And why the surprise that military personnel found it? Who better to look?

I don't know how you can consider it a non-issue Filthy, is it just because you personally consider pornography to be harmless? Because whether porn is moral or not is not even the issue. I think you would benefit by actually considering how these stories affect people other than yourself.
Osama Bin Laden is the figurehead for Islamic terrorism and militant Islamic fundamentalism. Al-Qaeda members need to swear an oath to him when they are initiated. He is honoured as a hero across the globe by anti-american extremists. If Osama is proven to be a bad Muslim, the entire basis for his demagoguery is destroyed, and as he is so (in)famous no new leader would ever hope to stir the same feelings in his followers or his enemies. It would be like cutting off the head of the beast. I would not expect terrorism to suddenly end, but I think it would definitely make an impact. So maybe it isn't a big deal to YOU. But to Muslims, looking at porn IS a big deal.
The only reason I also consider this completely irrelevant, is for a reason different to yours which I have already stated. No follower of Osama, or even a lot of neutrals will believe this is anything other than American propaganda. And I also disagree with Rat, I don't even think they will have the slightest doubt. These people are bat-shit crazy and probably wouldn't believe it if they walked in on him with a porno on the screen and a box of tissues. |

What I have done is make a social comment covering not just Muslim lunatics but everybody. I worded it poorly, perhaps, but there you have it and I find the excitement over this nonsense hypocritically high-larious. See, bin Laden is little different, aside from being deservedly dead, from the rest of us. Really, there’s no big story here at all, and it will change nothing.
