I don't care all that much about basketball, nor any other activity involving subsonic, flying spherical and oblong objects. Maybe I just ain't sporty enough, but Westboro Baptist, that venomous laughing stock from Kansas, could change that a little. After their tornado chicken-choking in Joplin, MO was busted up by outraged bikers, they seem to have aquired safer ambitions. Now they're hitting on the NBA.
Members of the Westboro Baptist Church showed up outside game three of the NBA finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat Sunday to protest the league’s stance on anti-gay slurs used by players.
“Now David Stern, the tyrant commissioner of the NBA is jamming a message down the throat of America that not only is it okay to be gay but you don’t even want to use the word gay in a negative connotation,” protester Steve Drain told KDAF-TV.
Stern recently fined Lakers star Kobe Bryant $100,000 for directing an anti-gay slur at an official. The Chicago Bulls’ Joakim Noah was also fined $50,000 after he hurled the same slur at a fan.

Another lesson we might take away from this is that the NBA, judging by the respective fines, considers their officials more important than the fans who support the whole organization.
Anyhow, if the biker incident should become commonplace, flowing into sports, I think it would be more fun to watch the Westboro perverts piss their pants than the game itself.
