Dang! I wish I had made it to the taping. I have some serious disagreements with Richard McNally and his book, Remembering Trauma. Hmmm... I think he plays a semantics game with regard to repressed memories. Elizabeth Loftus does the same thing. In the case of McNally, he calls it "not thinking about" rather than repressed. But the thing is, the memory is no more available to its owner than a repressed memory would be in a Freudian sense.
I doubt the show is about that. But he is a player in the "memory wars."
