Which ones? Why, the ones who are menstruating of course.
PZ has the details, plus a link to a petition of course.
Fuckers, if they want that extent of their law here, fuck them; they can go back home. In Canada, damnit, our civil laws that respect human rights have bloody priority.

Where ever the hell that kind of bloody shit is accepted and doesn't go against the person's civil rights. As I said: If they're going to push that kind of crap on people, then this is not the country for them. |

It seems to me that the real controversy is over whether the public school should be allowing its Muslim students to formally organize prayer on school grounds. No school officials are leading the prayer, that is being done by a local iman. The students who are being segregated by gender and whether they are menstruating or not are Muslim students who are apparently volunteering for such a sexist and IMO humiliating practice. If it is decided that the prayers are simply an accomodation for the large number of Muslim students at this particular school, and not part of any official advocacy for the Muslim religion coming from school authorities, then whatever. It's their fucked up religion, not mine. Christian groups have Bible study and prayer clubs in the USA that don't violate church-state separation because they are run by Christians for Christians, and nobody else is compelled to participate, nor is it run by school officials. |
