Since I don't know if this guy is a poe or not, I don't know whether to put this in religion or the humour folder.
His whole blog though is so "out there" that I'm thinking that he's most likely a Poe.
He references an earlier post he made, which PZ Myers picked up where he first called for a national registry for atheists.
If he's not a poe, then I just found a gold mine for FSTDT.
What do you guys think? Poe or not? If he is a poe, he's sure fooled a lot of the people over on Myer's blog.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.
Another example of this guy's lunacy here. |

Yeah. Mab posted this on facebook, and I followed suit. It sure looks like a poe. What makes me think it's not is that I couldn't reply. But who knows? |

Poe or schmo, what's the difference? It's you run of the mill Super Strength Jesus Hate in you face. This is nothing but the ramblings of another run of the mill mentally disturbed theist. Nothing original or rare with this sick puppy. They're a dime a dozen. Even at that they're over priced. If I was a theist I'd be embarrassed being associated with the likes of people like him. I'm not bothered at all. I enjoy seeing hypocrites broadcasting their condition. Thanks Iggy. SS |

If Pastor Mike Stahl is a Poe, he's put an awfully lot of work into it. I mean, I haven't seen any of the made-up preachers doing things like this.
Oh, look, he's just graduated from Bible college this year.
(Be careful, there's another Pastor Mike Stahl in Pennsylvania, and there might be a third in New York, but I can't get to details on him.) |

Not sure if this is Betty Bowers in a suit.
I've actually run into pastors and laypeople of certian extremist subsects of Christianity who really think this is appropriate. |

I actually think this guy is for real.
Living Waters Church is a popular name with this kind of stuff.
As with most extremists, they have to move from congregation to congregation until they form thier own church. (The rank and file sometimes will oust a hatred spewing priest because sometimes, oddly enough, they go too far.)
He apparently is the pastor of Living Waters Pentecostal Church in Clear Lake, MN. (which would make sense since pentecostals are fairly well known for this kind of crap.) According to his bio on that site he was part of a Hutterite commune in SD and was a chronic runaway before "finding God".
I don't think this is a poe. I think this guy exists and is serious. Usually, Pentecostals focus on Neopaganism. He may consider it stale and needs to make a larger group mad. (Neopagans have about 1 million members in the US. Atheists are larger in number.) |

His Facebook page says he used to be a police officer in Florida.
Or it said so, it appears to have been vanished. |

There are a lot of Mike Stahls around, at least four of whom are pastors. |

Here's a nicely put together Youtube rebuttal from The Thinking Atheist. |
"We are all connected; to each other biologically, to the earth chemically, to the rest of the universe atomically."
"So you're made of detritus [from exploded stars]. Get over it. Or better yet, celebrate it. After all, what nobler thought can one cherish than that the universe lives within us all?" -Neil DeGrasse Tyson |
