In his blog The Meming of Life, secular humanist parent extraordinaire Dale McGowan writes about conformity, the Asch Experiment, and his awesome daughter: http://parentingbeyondbelief.com/blog/?p=6198

Very intriguing. After viewing the video I thought surely this doesn't apply to everyone that took part kn the experiment. In this longer clip on this experiment it mentions 37% conformity. When there was "one dissenter" who gave the correct answer instead of all giving the wrong answer conformity dropped to 5%. So almost two thirds of those tested did not conform. It seems to speak toward a trait of conformity that applies to just over 1/3 of the population and less to people in general. I would like to see a test where one does not conform. Their reaction to the wrong answers would be also intriguing. I would also like to know how gender affects the results. SS

Here's a test with mostly female testies, or study subjects. Gender has not shown to change the results. SS
