I never stormed out of a chat room before, so tonight was a first. Just couldn't take people seriously comparing rape to being falsely accused of rape, especially after alienist (who I'm pretty sure was the only other woman in the chatroom) left. For the record, I'm sure there are some men out there who have had their lives ruined by an accusation of rape and as a result suffered more than some women have suffered from being raped. But the context in which the two were being compared struck me as highly insulting and belittling to the very rational fears that most women have about the possibility of sexual assault happening to us.

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?
