I just had a weired thoght.
What if, when the countdown reaches 0. It turns out and is revealed that Open is actually an alien? Weird but I have started thinking about it. |

Has anyone noticed how much good television is on nowadays? AMC tops the list. I love Mad Men and Breaking Bad and all their others (Walking Dead, The Killing) are just as good, if not better, than most movies.
Now, my wife has me hooked on Person of Interest (though last week's episode strained credulity) and Revenge. Chicago Code was awesome but, alas, it was cancelled. Homeland getting top reviews and Kelsey Grammer in Boss looks like a nice change of character for him. |

No, because he only saw the devastation of a small part of Japan outside Tokyo.
Of course, if you're worried about a world-wide disaster, then you shouldn't quote people who say that you're missing the point. |

If you look at the post in page 9, he is not talking about Japan, or atleast the damage only being localized in Japan.
By the way he has just replied:
Doesn't matter now. The time is past for that area of the world.
I wish Tall would come back for the finale. It would be his finest hour.
I really enjoyed this thread. All of you have given me new hope for the future.

Reads like he is covering his ass, hedging his bets, for when nothing special happens. Moderate your expectations and such. Something will change, but you and all your friends probably won't notice it. Going way out on that limb now that the date is approaching.

He gives a latitude and longitude which map to the coast of Japan near the mouth of Tokyo Bay, and said there was devastation out to the horizon (which on flat land, is less than five miles). Unless he was "remote viewing" a mountaintop (hard to do on the edge of ocean), he was describing a very localized scene.| What does he mean by the singularity? |

It's 3.5 hours past 0830 JST on 10/28, and there's no news out of Japan on any devastation.
In fact, it's about 1 AM 10/28 here on the East Coast, and so it's been 10/28 for most of the world so far. Are there going to be any obvious indications of change, or is it all going to be so subtle that most of us will remain ignorant of the brave new world? |
