I used to get them all the time when I was a kid. I always thought they were a lot of fun, and I looked forward to finding them in my trick-or-treat bag. Certainly more than the Milk Duds.

So a lesson to take from the comic tract is to help cause bad things to happen to people so that they'll convert to Christianity. Got it.

And her three sons would have gone to hell, so I guess God was cool ensuring that they all went to hell so mom could be saved.

Makes sense that they give them to kids. You'd have to have a child's mentality to actually be persuaded by Chick tracts.

I guess I was "fortunate" that, even as a young child, I was never able to really connect with the spiritual/metaphysical/irrational aspects of the religion I was brought up in. My wife, for example, tells me how all the Armageddon talk used to terrify her. I honestly don't recall ever feeling that way - I actually thought it was pretty fun stuff, but it was about as real to me as a comic book. It wasn't until I was a teen that I began to realize that other people did take this stuff seriously; that they really did believe in a literal Heaven/Hell, Judgement Day, etc.

Wow, does their god look like a complete asshole in that one, eh?

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.
