Traditinally they would not have needed any nail removal device at all. Might as well go with a sledge hammer.

Maybe the claw is mandated in case of a last second governor's reprieve?

Here are some more I found:

(That's the Manuel L. Quezon Memorial, completed in Quezon City in 1978.)

Ha! "Mordor. More fun in the Philippines."

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Indeed, Kil. What were they thinking?

Edit: That was the Manuel L. Quezon Memorial. It's 66 meters (217 ft) tall. The tower was begun in 1952 and wasn't completed until 1978, due to costs, theft of imported Carrara marble and corruption of fund managers.

Now, here's one I annotated. Want explanations? Sorry, but I'm not going there. It's up to you folks to know these things already, or look them up:

Then there's this one I captioned:

I've often seen this water company's trucks in Baguio, but I never
had a camera ready. Here's one supplying water to fire-trucks (no
hydrants here!) There must be more vampires than I expected in
Baguio, to require such vast amounts of sanctified dihydrogen monoxide.

Not to derail the geography here, but I wonder...if (as has been suggested) god was responsible for both the Asian and Japan Tsunami's...wasn't that all Holy water?

ETA: I have to ask, is there an actual "Central Park" anywhere near that restaurant?

None at all. But that restaurant is a few blocks from Burnham Park, which is Baguio City's "central park".

(Here's a video of the fire.)
