My wife Emily and I attended the Reason Rally on Saturday and got this pic with PZ, who was mingling with the crowd when not onstage. It was a fun and inspiring--if slightly damp--afternoon.

Oh cool! Did you notice how different he is in person than how he comes off in his blog? Very professorial.

He is soft-spoken in person, but I did hear him call one preacher he was arguing with an "asshole."

The topic of his speech was the sin of wrath and why he wants more atheists to be "bad without god."

PZ's beard has gone from grizzled to almost white in just two years, but otherwise, no change that I can see. People online were making a bit of fun of him for showing up in a dumb cowboy hat. But I think that after a while in the rain, that Stetson must have look awfully smart.
