Charles "Chuck" Colson, the "evil genius" of the Nixon administration and Watergate coverup ex-con, died Saturday afternoon from complications of a brain hemorrhage.

Chuck Colson, doing his thang.

After being a "dirty tricks" operative for Nixon (Colson once proposed firebombing the Brookings Institution, then sending in burglars to steal politically sensitive papers under the fire's cover), Colson was imprisoned for his work in covering up the Watergate break-in by other Nixon thugs. Colson served seven months on his felony convictions.

Colson emerged from prison as an evangelical Christian, founding perhaps the largest organization that works with prisoners, Prison Fellowship. He was greatly successful, making himself a whole new and even greater career as a sky pilot.

Colson promoted the most right-wing type of Christianist beliefs, saying that Darwinism causes crime and immorality, opposing gay rights and women's reproductive rights. He was also a member of the sinister Family.

This is not "See you later, Chuck!" It's "Good riddance!"

Biology is just physics that has begun to smell bad.” —HalfMooner
