You got it, moakley, it's the bald-faced liar David Barton, the pastor, former Texas GOP Vice Chairman, and non-historian who is trying to re-write history to make it appear all those Deist and skeptic Founding Fathers were good, Bob Jones University, 21st Century Christian Nationalists. And to alter public school history texts to turn the like of Thomas Jefferson into a theocrat. And he's having a lot of success in the last, especially in... wait for it... Rick Perry's Texas.
Barton is also the founder of the ironically-named WallBuilders. In my opinion, Thomas Jefferson would kick Barton's ass for what he's written. |
