So what are these kids going to do when they want to become biologists, doctors, scientists etc.? I want my kids to learn about evolution as well as all of the current scientific theories so they can talk about these subjects at least with basic knowledge or for a career they might be interested in pursuing. How does learning these subjects hurt a person in their faith?

These will be the Christians that will perpetuate the falsehoods like we came from monkey's or 2nd law proves it false. I like Ray Comfort when he preaches or teaches from the bible but he is wrong about a lot of his ideas of evolution.

Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Eph 5:15-17)

At Eternity Christian Academy, pastor-turned-principal Marie Carrier says that the her first through eighth-grade students learn at their own pace from Christian workbooks. The beginning science text explains "what God made" on each of the six days of creation. Evolution is not taught.

Carrier said, "We try to stay away from all those things that might confuse our children." She hopes to secure enrollment of 135 voucher students for the 2012-2013 school year. According to the website Salon, the school currently has just 38 students.

[My emphasis.]
Isn't that precious? They'll not fail to scare their kids with tales of genocide and a jealous, patriarchal god, but they protect them from "confusing" exposure to modern scientific knowledge.

Louisiana's education dollars are being well-spent to keep the state number 41 in family income, in the bottom ten states for National Assessment of Educational Progress results, number 1 state for Syphilis, number 3 for Chlamydia, number 2 for Gonorrhea, number 2 in poverty.

Let's keep those traditions of yours intact, Louisiana!

From 38 to 135 students? Sounds like someone's hoping to get rich, quick!

I can imagine their parents have no need for such professionals, they have faith in God and need nothing more. When illness comes their prayers for recovery are always answered and when the answer is no (death) they are consoled by their preachers and told it is God's will. Their dead loved ones are in a better place called "heaven". What a happy thought, every loved one gets to go. Only people who they hate go to "Hell", never a loved one. What a happy thought indeed.

Why should they give their children such useless knowledge found in real science classes, that's not a part of the world they live in. In their world science is crap and lies. These students can grow up to be preachers and will be very qualified to be such. Ignorance spreading ignorance preaching their truth.

I agree, they could come out just like Ray OR they could grow up and see that they were feed a bunch of lies, useless mumbo jumbo and figure that out for what it is.

Anyone know what these vouchers are worth? 10 or $20,000 a school year? They still have to run the school but it does open the door to some very serious money and with it power. It could be in their minds that their prayers have been answered and who can prove them wrong with the evidence they have? They're making their money just like Ray Comfort does, by preaching ignorance to vulnerable children and their gullible deluded parents. $Caching$, Praise the Lord! Try telling them God doesn't exist.

There are only two types of religious people, the deceivers and the deceived. SS
