That's it! The private investors need to rethink their approach. Especially if they want a big return with less cost and human risk. With the topic being discussed now containing references to Avatar and now Space Cowboys a true potential for returns surfaces. It's a sensational megahit, "Mars One" the movie. Starting out with an American president at the UN proposing announcing a new international challenge for all nations to join together in a combined effort to colonize Mars and uniting the nations peaceably in the effort. As the project advances and gains momentum the hostility in waring regions subside as a new consciousness of global oneness in common cause solidifies and spreads. That could be the first 30 minutes of the 90 minute blockbuster movie. The second two thirds would be an emotional roller coaster ride of both technological and personal challenges with both failures and successes. Lucrative theater sequels are there, even a ongoing weekly TV shows, in every local market globally. Caching! in every currency. Big worldwide returns at a fraction of the investment in every country. Without any humans being sacrificed and way less material costs than doing it for real. A win win.

This seems way less nuts to me than what's being proposed.

There are only two types of religious people, the deceivers and the deceived. SS

Guns should work just as on Earth, but with much less wind resistance.

True. I think this is more of a trait of Amber. You have to use gem polishing powder instead.
