Poll Question:
In the U.S., the Supreme Court recently upheld the Affordable Care Act as constitutional in a narrow 5-4 decision, paving the way for full implementation.

Choices:
Awesome! Now I won't have to hold a bake sale to afford a check-up!
Good, but more needs to be done.
Wow, you guys don't have universal health care?!
Why should anybody like this more than they like Social Security or Medicare?
I didn't notice, I was in Taiwan getting a liver transplant.
Great, another way for lazy people to freeload off those of us who actually work.
Will the government force us to buy gym memberships, next?
Terrible news! Now that the US is officially a socialist state, I'm moving to Canada.

A health insurance exchange is a set of state-regulated and standardized health care plans in the United States, from which individuals may purchase health insurance eligible for federal subsidies. A network of health care exchanges, websites that essentially serve as online marketplaces for health insurance produced under the Affordable Care act, is intended to be online by fall of 2013. The states are intended to create them, but those that don't will get a federal one forced on them. You can read more from http://personalmoneynetwork.com/moneyblog/2012/08/08/health-care-exchanges/ on defiant states may get stuck with federal health care exchanges.

Is it true that universal health care offers a lower quality of service?

That's a myth which Republicans seem to like to encourage.

I agree with that. As patriotic as they claim to be republicans don't have a problem providing active military and ex-military with socialize medical care through the VA hospital system. If it's not a lie then their lying to claim they put our soldiers first while providing what they claim is sub standard care. It can't be both ways.

On second thought politicians are always speaking out of both sides of their mouths and having it both ways. for example republicans are always screaming about making government smaller and reducing regulations. That dogma goes mute in states they control when passing regulation on abortion clinics that have no bearing on the patients health and only serve to make abortions unavailable in those states. Regulations on what they hate are just fine and there can never enough, while regulations on how much mercury coal power plants emits or regulating pollution of the soil and waterways are targeted.
Also they claim to hate and work to reduce welfare for people but fight tooth and nail to " Keep Big Oil On Corporate Welfare" 100% funded. The heath of people be damned and the pockets of their corporate cronies are filled. Bail out wall street with several trillions no problem, bail out Detroit for way less tax payers money, Noooo Waaay!

I have no doubt we're being screwed by both parties because they are feeding on the same corporate tit's but one side is sucking on a way bigger tit because it gives a better return. Nothing that hasn't been going on for hundreds of years if not longer, to a greater or lesser degree through time.

The citizenry is getting what they permit collectively. It's pretty devastating for those on the bottom and quite wonderful for those on the top.
