Some of the local wildlife. The Saw-whet owl is named for its call, apparently it sounds like a saw being sharpened. Since I've never heard either one, can't say how accurate that is.

I've always felt sorry for the Barred Owl. Of all the owls in North America, it looks the sorriest, with vacant eyes, a non-descript face, and a general look that makes it seem either tired or extremely bored.

A wise old owl lived in an oak

Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

An owl followed me along a hiking trail. It kept swooping near my head to a branch ahead of me, I'd walk past and it would swoop again. Several times.

And, nice pics, Rat.
