This is happening because of medical bills that had to be paid and such...this looks grim for the guy, so I'm posting this around for some help.
Coming off of disability, 60% base pay, calculated by using 60% of the disability period my doc recommended which means an efective rate of 0.36 base pay, while my medical expenses doubled, left me broke, I just didn’t have any reserve. I asked if they could would accept $800, every dime I had and could pawn or borrow. They said they’d see if that were acceptable – the next day eviction papers were served, which I take to mean the answer was no.
I work two jobs plus FTB, every single day I work, seven days a week, between six and 12 hours, with no hobbies, no vices, no social life, and yet I still simply don’t make enough to cover the expenses incurred from a heart attack, disability calculated from already terrible base pay, and subsequent surgery, heart meds, copays, utitilies and rent. It’s not a moral failing, it’s sure not laziness on my part, it’s just math. |

different circumstance. No one is going to investigate this guy. Clearly not the same as the other topic where we are awaiting more info. Also he's asking for money so one needs to make a judgement call. But nice to see you being a contrarian again even if it means being inconsistent. |

| Bankruptcy costs a lot of money. New laws have made it so that a poor person can't afford bankruptcy. The attorney fees alone put bankruptcy out of reach for the people who need it the most. And how would that protect the guy from being homeless? It's a horrible feeling, thinking you are about to become homeless. I know. I've been there. I'm still struggling.
I hope you didn't mean that, Storm. |

I'd expect a scammer to say something like, "I only got half the money I needed, but I sweet-talked the landlord into giving me another week, so please keep on donating!"
Instead, we're now treated to, "got enough, thanks!" |

If you are uneasy donating to some "unknown blogger at FTB", then there are causes closer to home:
The fundraise to send Kil to TAM has not reached its target yet.

| Now that's a clever evil Atheist con man and a very clever con job. Ask for money with a contrived story and then just a couple of days into the con actually post that you don't (need) any more help so please stop (giving cash) and thank you. That Atheist obviously has no morals or scruples at all. What is the world coming to with people turning away God and becoming Atheists that pull con jobs like this? It's diabolical!

Here's another sign that he's on the level: He's offering to give the extra cash that he got to others.

I know the last few years have just been a bad run of luck. There are plenty of people who have way worse luck, this sure could have been worse. But when you have one bad luck event after another, it’s easy to understand how less skeptical people might start seeing cosmic conspiracies or supernatural intervention. You search, for a cause, for a solution, but there isn’t one, because it’s just bad luck. | Shit happens! If you like it it's written off as good luck, if your don't it's bad luck. Certainly he's been having good luck while he's having bad luck because shit is always happening. He's to busy to notice his good luck from focusing on the bad events incorrectly. Like thinking his heart attack was bad luck. Wouldn't surviving it be the good luck he didn't see. I see this event as very good luck one because of the outcome and what worse it could have been. This was a very good luck. |

This was a very good luck. | I think he typically has a decent grasp on seeing the good amongst the bad. For example, his older post-heart-attack post, I may have been bitten by a radioactive spider. The most-recent run of bad luck may suck, but he's glad to be alive and all that. |
