Well some names I'd agree (there's a kid running in my country somewhere named the portuguese equivalent of One Two Three Four) because poor kid. Like, naming a child 4Real? That's just mean. |

Too bad, Lucifer is one of the cooler sounding Biblical names. |
"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History
"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini |

Really? Many countries (yes even "industrialised" ones) have rules concerning this. Portugal is one of the strictest I believe.
on a side note

It was traced to somewhere in southeast Asia.
The FBI agent that came to our store had a crushing handshake. My hand hurt for some time. I wonder if it's an intimidation tactic. If so, I'll be sure to never again shake an FBI agent's hand. |

I'm all for personal freedom, but personal freedom does not imply or include the freedom to do whatever you want to your children. Because then it's not personal. Children cannot consent to being given names that might haunt them forever.
I will say that banning names like Justice or Chief might be a bit draconian (even if given a somewhat-reasonable justification), especially in light of the bizarre names that have been allowed. New Zealand, at least, needs some reform in its naming laws, but that doesn't mean those laws should be scrapped completely. |
