The government has already decided that it owns your body, that's why there are laws which prevent you from putting certain drugs into them. If we are not vigilant, they will begin selling us off to the highest bidder.

| Valid point and according to Myriad Genetics they own a part of our bodies too. This needs to be corrected in the courts or thru new retroactive laws. With the billions of dollars on the table, I not hopeful this will change, until it does. |

This is a very nice surprise. Supreme Court rules human genes may not be patented
The Supreme Court ruled unanimously Thursday that human genes cannot be patented, a decision that is likely to shape the future of medical and biotech research.
Those who challenged the notion that something that occurs naturally in the human body can be “owned” by a company said the decision could open a new era of expanded research and lower costs for genetic testing. |

Yes, it was, especially that it was unanimous. Maybe there is some hope after all.

| Yep, the unanimous part actually caught me completely off guard. I tried to levitate, not being successful confirmed I wasn't dreaming. Hope? More likely some aid brought in some pot brownies during deliberations.
Come to think of it, eventually (soon) we're going to get the Gay Marriage Rights decision. Let hope it was a big batch of brownies. |
