The luddites win. Funny how they tout science when it supports their beliefs like global warming but reject science when it doesn't.

Calgary dentists report more cavities in kids after fluoride removed from water

What blows my mind is that fluoridation is still a debate, and it's not just a fringe group calling for its removal.

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

From the comments.
And science changes every second of every day. We are finding complete reversals on many things that were promoted as great in the beginning.
I am seeing this type of anti-science argument more often lately. I try to make the argument that this is a strength of science not a weakness. Suggestions on how I can make this argument better?

I would argue,
1) There are far more "slight changes" than "complete reversals"
2) Many of the "complete reversals" are in fact reactionary or anti-science based
3) Many of the "complete reversals" come from things wrongly assumed to be based in science and we're only reversed after science was properly applied.

"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History

"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini
