What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Bad news for my friend. Nobody wants to hire him because he has been out of work for so long.

1.3 million affected, if these were the kind of people who "religiously" vote every year, come hell or high water, there's no way the would be treated like this. While not scientific at all Thor, I'm wondering if your friend votes every year or if he voted this past November? Do you know?

So it's official benefits are not extended. One reported reason given by the representatives in favor of letting this expire is reported to be,,,
link
Extending benefits for an additional year would cost roughly $25 billion, they noted, which would add to the federal deficit.

Interesting how by giving corporations and the greatest wealth earners in the country tax laws which allow them to pay less than half the tax rate the poorest wage earners pay doesn't equate to adding to the federal deficit. No doubt Americans have got the best government money can buy and clueless votes can elect. I believe there are many reasons poor people are poorer than others. One being either not voting or continuing to vote for those that screw them, like many Republicans and Democrats do, is one factor.

Edit to add

Here are some comments on the kind of politicians we keep electing and how the voters reelect those again that are demonstrably not working in the best interests of the majority of those that place then in their positions. So I'm not misread, I'm not saying there are not honest politicians of either party that are trying to serve within our corrupt system but the majority of voters only see two choices and that misconception works against them.

SS, my friend votes and is an atheist socialistish guy like me; but unlike me, he is a self-defeating "negative nancy" and I drove him nuts with my bouncey Pinkie-Pie-like happiness when he was my roommate years ago, ha.
